What’s special about IdeaLab! – The Founders’ conference?
IdeaLab! is the biggest founders conference in
Germany, entirely organized by students.
It is famous for its unique platform that enables the exchange of ideas and
opinions between international students, entrepreneurs, academia and
We are not only uniting successful founders from all over the globe with
ambitious students and renowned academics, but also create an inspiring
atmosphere for interesting and stimulating discussions through workshops,
speeches and panels. Furthermore, we offer speeddating opportunities with
investors and representatives from well-known VC’s.
Thus, our participants have the chance to get in touch with the most famous
personalities of the start-up scene.
When and how long does the conference take place?
On October 10 & 11th we will open the doors to this years
IdeaLab! 2014. The two day event begins Friday morning ending Saturday night
with our amazing closing party. You are more than welcome to stay until Sunday
to have a more convenient trip back home.

Application is open from May through September.
When do I get informed of my application status?
We start processing your application as soon as
you have handed it in. However, we cannot promise to get back to you before Juli
1st. Nevertheless, we intent to respond to our international
applicants earlier as we want to make your travel planning easier.

How do I get to WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management?
There are four airports close to Vallendar:
Frankfurt International (105km), Cologne/Bonn (95km), Düsseldorf (152km), and
Frankfurt Hahn (97km)
From there – and everywhere else in Germany – you can easily reach Vallendar by
train. The local train station is just a 2 minutes walk from the WHU campus.
There will also be a shuttle service provided for all participants arriving at
the airport on Thursday night and Friday morning.
What about accomodation?
You are invited to stay at our lovely students’
homes. Therefore, it might be good to bring your sleeping bags and mats.
