IdeaLab! is Europe’s premier student-led startup conference designed to connect young founders with top-tier investors and startup-interested students with forward-thinking companies.
When will the event take place?
This year’s IdeaLab! Conference will take place on the first and second of October 2021.
Will the event take place online or in person?
Due to the positive development of the Covid 19 pandemic, IdeaLab! 2021 will be able to take place in person! We are very excited to finally welcome you all back on campus.We have lots of cool stuff planned, so look forward to it! Of course, there will be an elaborate hygiene concept to guarantee everyone the greatest possible safety.
Where will the event take place?
The IdeaLab! Conference will traditionally take place on the campus of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. This is located in Vallendar, a small town near Koblenz in Rhineland-Palatinate.
How does the application process work?
Please upload your CV, and we will review your application as soon as possible. For Startups, please upload your pitch deck, even if it’s not updated yet. If you have updated the pitch deck send this to us via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can all applicants participate in the conference?
Unfortunately, this will not be possible. Due to the high demand, we can only admit a part of the applicants for this year’s event. Nevertheless, we encourage you to submit your application, as we are looking forward to a diverse and exciting audience.
How do I get on campus?
The campus of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management is centrally located in Vallendar and is therefore easy to reach. During the conference, you need a negative corona test, which is not older than 24h, to take part in the event. This will be checked together with your ticket at the beginning of our check-in process. You will get all the information about this in time. Also, there will be a Test Center where you can get tested free of charge.
Where will I be able to sleep?
During the conference you can stay in hotels or Airbnbs in Vallendar and the surrounding area. Koblenz is easy to reach by train or by car.
In addition, there is the possibility to stay overnight in the flats of other WHU students through our so-called “Schlafie” system. You will receive more detailed information about this in due time.
What language(s) do I need to be able to speak?
In any case, you should be able to speak / understand English as our speeches / panels / workshops will be held in English.. German can be an advantage in some situations but is not mandatory.
What will be the program at the upcoming event?
The final program is currently being finalized and will be published in the coming days.
Which startups, VC's and speakers will be coming to the event?
We are looking forward to welcoming Alexander Kudlich, Kagan Sümer, Saygin Yalcin, Soheil Mirpour, Robin Godenrath, Alexander Weber and some more exciting speakers at our conference this year.
In addition, many startups and venture capitalists are coming, so be excited. Follow us on social media to stay up to date.
Will there be workshops on the event to participate in?
Yes, there will be workshops on both days, e.g. a Facebook workshop for marketing. You can participate in these if you have registered early. Places in the workshops will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
